Claudia Leiva, Founder of Talataa

Meet the Heart Behind Talataa

What started as a personal journey through Wayuu land soon became a commitment to share its vibrant culture with the world. Claudia’s eye for design, love for her roots, and desire to uplift indigenous women gave life to Talataa — a brand that celebrates authenticity, color, and tradition with every handmade piece.

Originally from Colombia and now based in Clearwater, Florida, she brings warmth, authenticity, and purpose to everything she does. With a background as a dentist, her radiant smile and kind presence are part of what makes Talataa so deeply personal.

🔸 A Bond Woven in La Guajira

Talataa was born from a journey — one that started in Colombia, in the heart of the Wayuu land.
These moments reflect not only landscapes, but a deep connection with the people, the craft, and the culture.
It’s more than a brand — it’s a tribute to the women who create, to the colors that inspire, and to the stories we carry.

🔸 The Hands That Bring Talataa to Life

Behind every Talataa piece, there’s a vibrant community of Wayuu artisans who preserve centuries-old techniques through their craft.

In Riohacha, Tatiana and Juan, two community leaders, husband and wife, and entrpeneurs, deeply rooted in Wayuu traditions work closely with Claudia to bring her seasonal inspirations to life.

Together, they ensure that each stitch carries meaning, each design tells a story, and each creation honors the culture it comes from.
